I have been thinking a lot about how to celebrate Earth Day at the Clinic and all of the causes that are near and dear to my heart. What I've decided is that $30 from each treatment scheduled Saturday, April 22 will be donated to Save the Boundary Waters.
Save the Boundary Waters is a current effort to permanently protect the Boundary Waters Wilderness, an area many of us here in the upper Midwest visit for it's beauty, solitude, adventure and outdoor recreation. It is a place I grew up visiting with my Grandpa, a place my partner and I enjoy recharging during week long portage trips and a place that holds the memories of many people.
The issue the Boundary Waters face is the threat of sulfide ore copper mining. While I really truly try hard to not bring politics into my business practices, I do believe that our National Parks, State Parks, Pubic Lands are sacred spaces that should enjoy continued preservation without threat of degradation or compromising the unique ecosystems they harbor.
You can read more about the group, the mission, the threat and how to get involved here: https://www.savetheboundarywaters.org. I hope to see you Saturday! If you want to make a donation at the Clinic without receiving a treatment, I'll be happy to collect that as well and submit it for you.
